I have joined Solana Tech Discord but it is read-only and I am not able to send any messages. This is my first discord I have joined, So apologies if it is something obvious or silly.
It mentions that I need to self-assign roles but I don’t see any options to do this. Any ideas please.

Hi @DefiSS and welcome to the forum! 
I haven’t been on Discord recently so I might be wrong, but I believe there should be one or two channels that you can see.
Once of those has a series of emojis under it, and it says to click the emoji associated with the roles that you want to join on the Discord server.
